Success for students at Eggbuckland Sixth Form as top grades are on the rise!

Students and staff at Eggbuckland Community College are celebrating today as students receive their A Level and Vocational qualification results.

We are immensely proud of the way that our students have approached their studies throughout their time at Eggbuckland including the summer series, with maturity, resilience and courage.

Our students have certainly shown tenacity and determination, rising to the challenge of achieving their best across a broad range of subjects.  We are delighted to have seen a ten percent rise in the number of passes at grade B or Merit and above.

We are always proud of the diverse destinations of our students and this year is no exception.

Of those who applied to University, 83% have been successful in securing their offers. Students are off to a wide range of Universities across the UK including Kent, Plymouth, Worcester and Bristol to study courses ranging from Creative Writing to Forensic Sciences and Mechanical Engineering to Primary Education. Two students are off to Russell Group Universities: Lauren will be studying Medicine at Southampton University and Lily-Mae will be studying Media, Journalism & Culture at Cardiff University.

Other successes include students securing Higher Level/Degree Apprenticeships with Hoare Lea, PKF Francis Clark and Babcock, and we wish Matthew the best of luck in his re-location to London working with West Ham FC Community Trust following his success in his Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport.

The Eggbuckland Sixth Form team are very proud of the students’ achievements: ‘We wish all students moving on from Eggbuckland into employment, Further or Higher education, every success. It has been a pleasure to see students personally develop throughout their time at Eggbuckland as well as their academic achievements and are proud of their commitment to extra-curricular activities such as cultural trips to London, Higher Education Visits, and volunteering in Kenya this summer. Eggbuckland Alumni will always be welcome back into College to inspire our further generations and share their Career Journeys.’

Ms Lilley, College Principal added, ‘I am delighted to share in the successes of our students today and to see them reap the rewards their hard work.  I would like to congratulate all of our students and wish them luck in their future endeavours beyond Eggbuckland.  We cannot wait to hear of their next successes as alumni of the College.

A special mention must also go to our two out-going Head Students, Ellie and Kieran, who have been excellent ambassadors for the College throughout their time here.  I would like to thank all of our staff who have continued to support our students so tirelessly, and to all of our parents and carers for their on-going support and encouragement’.
