Another successful year for students at Eggbuckland Sixth Form!

Our staff and students at Eggbuckland Community College are celebrating today as students receive their well-deserved A Level results.

This cohort has impressed us throughout their Sixth Form journey with their dedication, resilience and tenacity. They have consistently demonstrated an exceptional work ethic and commitment to their studies and should be immensely proud of everything they have achieved. They have risen to every challenge and secured results that reflect their hard work and determination.

We are delighted to see our results continue to improve, with a particularly significant increase in the number of students achieving the highest grades. Over twice as many students achieved A* to B grades compared with last year, reflecting both their commitment and the support of our dedicated staff.

This is also reflected in the diverse and ambitious onward destinations of our students; our university application rate has risen by over 20%. Students are off to a wide range of cities across the country including Cardiff, Hull, Plymouth and Newcastle to study courses ranging from Mathematics to History and Mechanical Engineering to Journalism. For those choosing alternative destinations, our students have been successful in gaining places on competitive apprenticeships and employment opportunities including with Hoare Lea, Princess Yachts and the Royal Navy.

Director of Sixth Form, Mr Angus Calderwood, said: "I could not be prouder of this year group. These results reflect two years of genuine graft, resilience and intellectual curiosity. Every one of our students should feel enormously proud of what they have achieved today. I'd also like to thank our teaching and support staff, and our parents and carers, whose encouragement has been invaluable. We look forward to hearing about everything this cohort goes on to do next."

Today's results reflect not only academic success, but also the personal growth, spirit and determination they have demonstrated throughout their time with us.
