Cross Country – The tenacity and compassion showed during our Yr7-9 Cross Country Challenge in core PE lessons and has been great to see with lots of students pushing themselves, and encouraging others, to beat their previous times to set a new Personal Best. Distance running isn’t everyone’s best talent but we have some real flyers, who leave staff behind, and a large majority who give everything they can to do their best. Well done to all for your hard work. Results are also in from last week’s West Devon races and we have some real running potential at ECC.
The team positions were: Yr 8/9 girls – 7th, Yr 8/9 boys – 6th, Yr7 boys – 4th with our best result Yr 7 girls in 3rd place. Fantastic! Not only was the running good but the team attitude and mutual encouragement was lovely to see with teams running across to different parts of the course to cheer on their team-mates. It was lovely to see them in action and hear the praise from parents and other staff at the event.
Our County and UK nationals runner, Isaac L, impressed again despite illness to take 2nd and he will hopefully be joined representing West Devon at the County Championships by Nancy D, Lenny E and Sonny L after their excellent performances. Fingers crossed for selection.
