Students and staff at Eggbuckland Community College are celebrating today as students receive their A Level and Vocational qualification results.

We are incredibly proud of the way that our students have approached their studies throughout their time at Eggbuckland with maturity, resilience and courage.  This cohort have certainly risen to the challenge of achieving their best across a broad range of subjects.

We are delighted to see not only our overall pass rate increase but also a significant increase in the progress our students are making whilst studying with us in the Sixth Form.

We are always proud of the diverse destinations of our students, and this year is no exception. The number applying to university rose again, with students choosing even more ambitious courses than ever.  Students are off to a wide range of cities across the country including Cardiff, Swansea, Bristol and London to study courses ranging from History to Psychology and Film Production to Environmental Management & Sustainability.  For those choosing alternative destinations, our students have been successful in gaining places on competitive apprenticeships and employment opportunities including with the NHS, Armed Forces and in childcare.

Standout achievements include:

Mykhailo Chernysh who, after moving to Plymouth from the Ukraine at the start of Year 10, has today achieved no less than 5 Level 3 qualifications including a Distinction* in Engineering and a Grade A in A Level Mathematics.

Rhys Warne, who through our vocational partnership with Discovery College, has achieved D*D*D in Level 3 Uniformed Protective Services, as well as being awarded Public Services Student of the Year and the Outstanding Contribution to College award.

Micah Savage, who is university bound read History and Alana Hallett who is off to read Psychology.

Director of Sixth Form, Mr Angus Calderwood, said: ‘We wish all students moving on from Eggbuckland into employment, Further or Higher education, every success. It has been a pleasure to see students personally develop throughout their time at Eggbuckland as well as achieve academic success. We are proud of the commitment they have shown, not only to their studies but to extra-curricular activities and contributing to the wider school community. Eggbuckland Alumni will always be welcome back into College to inspire our further generations and share their career journeys.’

Ms Heather Lilley, College Principal added, ‘I am delighted to share in the successes of our students today.  We are proud of every student, and the diverse and ambitious pathways that they have chosen for their next steps. Today is a celebration of both academic success and personal growth.  These results are a reflection not just of their efforts, but also of the dedication shown by our staff and the support and encouragement from their families.  I would like to congratulate all of our students and wish them luck in their future endeavours beyond Eggbuckland.  We cannot wait to hear of their next successes as alumni of the College’.

Impressive achievements by the students! I always enjoy seeing hard work and persistence pay off. In my own fitness journey, I also strive for constant growth and sometimes use supportive supplements. For example, original pt-141 for women helped me recover faster after intense training, making progress more consistent. The key is balancing effort with self-care.
