Safeguarding Bulletin

With only two days left of term it is important to recognise that Christmas can be a tough time for some because expectations are high and there is a sometimes a pressure to ‘have a good time’. But as many people will know, family relationships can be fraught, distant and a source of difficultly.

Below a link below highlights some of the safeguarding concerns that exist at Christmas. This is useful to know for our own families but for those around us in our local community.

Don't forget if you are concerned there is always something you can do to help:

Worried About a child?

Call 999 if the child is in real danger now.

If you are worried about a child or young person, or think they are being abused, even if you are unsure, please contact:

Depending on the support you need, there are now two key ways to contact the Plymouth City Council Children’s Services team.

If you have safeguarding concerns about a child that requires a social worker please send the MASH contact form to mash@plymouth.gov.uk.

If it is an urgent safeguarding concern, please make an immediate referral by phoning the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) on 01752 668000, or 01752 346984 out of hours.

You can also contact the NSPCC Helpline on 0808 800 5000

To support the Everyone’s Invited campaign the NSPCC have launched a dedicated helpline for children and young people have experienced sexual harassment, assault or abuse.  The helpline can be contacted on 0800 136 663, or by emailing help@nspcc.org.uk
