With so many exciting things happening over the final few weeks in school, I hope you have enjoyed the Facebook posts including Year 11 Leavers’ Event and their Prom, the Science Show, Sports Day and Enrichment Week.

Since the last post, Year 7 students have also travelled to Exeter to watch a theatre performance of Romeo and Juliet, students from across Years 7 to 9 have met members of the Leadership Team for Student Voice Feedback sessions, Year 10 and 12 have completed work experience, Ruby R was awarded High Commended in the Poetry by Heart national competition and the fabulous Mrs Northcote was awarded a Certificate of Excellence in the Pearson National Teacher Awards.

We have been overwhelmed by the number of emails we have received from employers regarding our students notable successes during Work experience week – we are so proud of our students for the way they approached their work experience placements which was recognised by employers. We also received a number of emails and feedback from members of the public and external providers during enrichment week regarding the brilliant conduct, attitudes and tenacity of our students! Great work Team Eggbuckland!

As we end the term, our Silver Duke of Edinburgh groups completed their expedition - what a brilliant achievement – and we held our End of Year whole-school rewards assembly. During the assembly, we first announced the Sports Day results, and then students received certificates for:

- achieving high numbers of positive points

- being one of our ‘Zero heroes’ – students who have made it throughout the year without a single negative point

- being Stars of the Year – the students in each Tutor Group with the highest number of Star of the Lesson.

This year, we have awarded over 22000 Star of the Lesson postcards, recognising the effort and achievement of more than 960 different students. And on Friday, we reached the incredible one million milestone of the number of positive points that have been awarded over the year. We are extremely proud of what our students have achieved on their journeys to becoming exceptional graduates.

It has been wonderful to meet and talk to so many Students of Week throughout the year. The bespoke and varied reasons for their nominations are always a delight to read and so wonderful to share with them.

Final Students of the Week to recognise and celebrate are:

Year 7: Maicey J, David J, Zac D

Year 8: Ava V, George H, Lilly G

Yea 9: Chloe S, Ewan E, Matthew P

Year 10: Harvey B, Molly W, Amelia P
