This week we hosted the Devon Schools Table Tennis championships - another wonderful event showcasing the facilities we have and the brilliant sport of Table Tennis. Thanks to our Student Leaders for their help and our own players who competed. It has been a busy two weeks with sporting fixtures, and I congratulate all of our students who are representing the College. Full details of their matches and competitions can be found in our separate Sports Update.
Year 11 have completed their mock interviews this week, with many local businesses and organisations coming to support us. Thank you to Lynn Harris, our Careers Lead, for organising this - it is such a valuable and necessary experience for our students.
Year 11 also began their mock exams, with their language speaking exams and practical mocks. After half term, both Year 11 and Year 13, go straight into their formal mocks in the exam hall. We wish them every success in these mocks which are an important 'rehearsal'.
Talking of rehearsals, rehearsals for the school musical, Matilda, are in full flow - it's great to see so many students involved and we can wait to see the finished show!
Congratulations and a huge well done to all of our students who completed their Silver Duke of Edinburgh expedition last week. The weather wasn't their friend at times but the groups all did amazingly well. We are so proud of their achievements and the tenacity they demonstrated and the compassion for each other.
Its been great to welcome so many visitors to the College as part of our Year 6 Open Evening and Open Morning programme. Thank you to all visitors for taking the time to visit and feedback so positively about the wonderful atmosphere and learning climate seen at the College.
With half term now upon us, we wish all students a restful break after a busy and long term. Students have had an excellent term and never fail to impress with the way they approach every day at school. Our students really are a credit to us and their families.
We will end the half term with plenty of Sparx and Student of the Week successes:
Sparx winning tutor groups for the past 3 weeks have been...
Year 7: Mrs Millls and Miss Grimes
Year 8: Mrs Channing
Year 9: Mr Whaley
Year 10: Mrs Nunn and Mr Scott

Its always such a close competition each week! I wonder if another Tutor group can over take Mrs Channing and Mr Whaley next term!
