Eggbuckland Community College are celebrating with their Year 11 cohort this morning as they achieve brilliant GCSE results.

We are incredibly proud of our students who have shown tenacity, determination and resilience throughout the year, culminating in achieving fantastic results. We are delighted to have achieved our best ever grades in Maths and English which has resulted in a 10% rise in the those securing at least a Grade 4 in both subjects. Two thirds of our students have achieved at least the expected standard in both Maths and English, with over three quarters of our students achieving a Grade 4 or above in Maths or English. Pleasingly, we have also seen a significant increase in those achieving at least a Grade 5 in both subjects. Our students have certainly risen to the challenge of becoming our exceptional graduates of 2025. These grades will ensure that our students have the outcomes needed to progress on to their chosen pathway, be it Sixth Form, College or an apprenticeship.

Many of our students achieved exceptional results today due to their hard work and commitment to their studies, taking full advantage of all the support and study sessions on offer throughout the year.

Our top performer was Karl Lee who secured seven Grade 9s, two Grade 8s and a Grade 7. Also with impressive results, securing the very top grades in a number of subjects were Aaron Santer, Finley Melia, Evan Trick, Alex Codner, Joseph Codner, Jack Tupper, Grace McCoy and Katie Elson. The whole College community are celebrating with our Year 11 students today, and we look forward to many students returning to study in our Sixth Form in September. We pride ourselves on the excellent careers advice and guidance we provide, helping our students to secure next steps pathways where they will flourish. Whether students are staying on with us for Sixth Form or taking other routes, we are proud of every one of them and excited to see where their journeys take them. For all those leaving the College, we wish them every success as exceptional Eggbuckland alumni.

Having seen students open their results this morning, Head of Year 11, Helen Mullally commented: “I’m so proud of our Year 11s and how brilliantly they’ve done in their exams. They’ve worked so hard, shown real determination, and it’s fantastic to see all that effort pay off. So many of them have gone above and beyond what was expected, and I couldn’t be prouder. This success really shows what they’re capable of and sets them up really well for whatever comes next. Huge congratulations to them all—I can’t wait to see what they go on to achieve.”

Reflecting on this year’s GCSE results, Principal, Heather Lilley, said, “It has been an absolute pleasure to watch this Year group grow and mature throughout their GCSE studies and develop into such wonderful young people. Our students have risen to every challenge, approaching their studies with positivity and never failing to impress us with their determination to succeed. I hope that every student is as proud of their achievements as we are; they truly are our exceptional graduates. We have once again seen significant improvement in our results this summer and these results are a reflection of their hard work, the dedication of our staff, and the support of our families and community. Thank you to all our parents and carers for the crucial part they play in supporting their child’s education and the College. I wish all of our Year 11 students the very best of luck as they embark on the next stage of their education pathway.”

Congratulations again to all of our students on their achievements!

I have just read the news about the GCSE results at Eggbuckland Community College and I must say that I am very impressed with the students' achievements. It is clear that they have really worked hard throughout the year, demonstrating perseverance and responsibility. It is particularly pleasing to see that the level of knowledge in mathematics and English has increased significantly and that a large proportion of students have achieved high results, opening up broad prospects for further study. This example shows how important it is to combine motivation, systematic work, and support from teachers in order to achieve such excellent results. Speaking of supporting and improving one's abilities, I enjoyed an article about new foot treatment methods that help…
