On Friday, our Year 9 students spent the morning researching GCSE option choices. Firstly, we welcomed back ex-student Abigail Cundell who presented her inspirational journey from Eggbuckland to graduating this year from Plymouth University with a Masters in Applied Marine Science. Students then participated in a UniFrog training workshop from Terry Doyle, Next Steps Southwest and HE student ambassadors. Students were given the opportunity to complete quizzes to identify their strengths, skills, and interests. This generated career ideas that might be of interest to them, including the GCSE options that will complement these choices.
Finally, students completed a career action plan to help inform their future decision making. Students have been encouraged to further research UniFrog with their parents/carers to fully understand the importance of making well-informed choices.
