On Wednesday two Year 10 Food Preparation & Nutrition classes participated in a Ready, Steady, Cook challenge with the Logistics branch of the Royal Navy. The students worked in teams to prepare either a starter & main course or a main course & dessert with a set of ingredients provided to them by the Navy.
The students embraced the challenge, producing some tasty, well presented dishes, including chicken curry, pizza and chocolate cake. The Royal Navy personnel were impressed with the student’s enthusiasm and effort throughout the double lesson. The visitors enjoyed sampling their efforts and the hardest decision for them was picking a winner from each class!
The winning teams were Louie, Daniel & Lili from Mrs Hunt’s class & Ellie, Jasmine & Caitlin from Mrs Polson’s class. Well done!
Students also had the opportunity to listen to a presentation on careers within the logistics division of the Royal Navy.
