Our Central Venue season opened against the hosts, Plymstock. With 2 early chances to go ahead, and Declan on top form in goal, we looked in a strong position. However, as Plymstock pressurised they squeezed ahead and despite a late rally we succumbed 2-0.
Hele’s were next up and after matching them initially their inter-play around their lynchpin No10 and our rotational substitutions made it difficult to find a rhythm to claw back goals and a 3-0 defeat was a fair result. Plympton Academy were final opposition and scored 2 quick fire goals. We then dominated play to go 3-2 up but in the final few minutes they sneaked one back to draw 3-3.
Despite no wins, matches were closely fought and results could have easily reversed. Spirits remained high and bus singing loud. Onwards and upwards to Round 2 in January.
