Our Year 10 Netball Sports Academy girls umpired this week in the Primary Netball competition. It was pleasing to see that from the 11 schools playing in this type of event three of them were from our family cluster; Compton, Eggbuckland Vale and Widey Court. The most pleasing thing was seeing the girls grow in confidence with their umpiring and becoming stronger with each decision they had to make.
A number of staff from the schools involved were complimentary about the umpires and it was great to see them enjoy the experience. Blowing a whistle and getting everyone to stop and look at you for the decision you have made is more daunting than you’d think. Well done girls.
