In rainy and cold conditions our stoic young Year 7 athletes showed their determination and resilience at the Plymouth Schools Championship shivering their way to a great 3rd position overall.
Our enthusiastic team performance included some excellent individual efforts. From the boys was a 3rd for Alfie S, 2nd for Alfie J, 1st and 3rd for Jacob L, double silver for Kieran L and 1st and 2nd for Isaac L. Stand out performances from the girls included 3rd for Mia D in the 300m, 1st for Anna-Maria W in Long Jump (by a long way) and a silver/gold pairing for Lauren J and Isabelle S in the High Jump; Isabelle would actually have come joint 1st overall in both the boys’ and girls’ competitions combined.
They were all a pleasure to take to the event and represented the college superbly! Special thanks also go to Mr Chalk and Mr Donovan, both Marjon Trainees working with us, for their very wet, but still accurate, officiation throughout the afternoon.
