Year 7/8 Cricket Round 2
In the 2nd round of the Plymouth Schools’ Competition, our first match against Lipson was one of mixed fortune and a close result: tentative hitting and some unusually erratic bowling meant a narrow loss – our first so far this season. However, a quick tactics talk and team decision to bat more aggressively paid dividends in our next match versus Plympton Academy. Batting first, we made 47 (Harry T 15) and bowled well with our final 3 balls taking a wicket, a run out and a 3rd stumping for our wicket-keeping prodigy, Tom E. However, it was still a draw, so up strode Nathaniel C for the ‘golden bowl’ who hit the stumps first ball to take the win!
Results so far: Played 4, won 3, lost 1. If we beat DHSB next Wednesday, then we take the title.
