Year 10 Class of the week 1

Mrs Mills was literally jumping up and down with enthusiasm for the work produced by her Year 10 classes. The wonderful canvas they have produced (2 metres by 3 metres) is to be on display on Embankment Road as a celebration of the Mayflower 400. There may be a number of canvasses on display along Embankment Road, but we are confident that the one ECC students have created will stand head and shoulders above the rest!

Just over a year ago, the Art Department, were asked to take part in celebrating Mayflower 400. All Year 10 Fine Art and Graphics students have recently created mixed media work inspired by our coast, incorporating silhouettes and layers of text and maps. The students have worked incredibly hard on this project and we are very proud of all their achievements. The work below has been developed into a final outcome with the support of Plymouth Design Forum and the amazing Sarah Smalldon, a local artist. After the exhibition we are then fortunate to be allowed to keep the work on display at Eggbuckland as a legacy from the Mayflower 400.

(Congratulations to the Year 10 students whose work was selected as the final panel design – Scott B, Katie E, Kacey Mand Katherine F).
