Year 10 Careers Development Day

On Tuesday, Year 10 students took part in a Career Development Day. Students started the morning with an inspirational speaker, Emma Jarvis from Service Design Solution. Emma shared her career journey from school to now being an electrical engineering apprentice with SDS.

Terry Doyle from Next Steps South West provided training on Unifrog, a new career platform the school are using to support students with careers and work related learning. Students completed interest, personality and work environment quizzes to highlight their strengths, weaknesses and then looked at job profiles that matched their interests.

Finally, Mr Pearce provided information on the CV builder that is contained within Unifrog. The students spent Period 3 working with an employer and their class teacher to make a start on a CV and Covering Letter that will allow them to apply for a work experience placement in an area that is of interest to them.

We would like to thank the employers who gave their time to support the students. Employers included Building Plymouth, Sphere Solutions, Obedair Construction, Plymouth Community Homes, Seatec, DWP, SWH Ltd, Lloyds Bank and TH March Insurance.
