This Friday is International Women and Girls in Science Day. We are celebrating in Science by taking most of Year 8, 9 and 10 lessons and looking into the case study of Rosalind Franklin (who discovered the shape of DNA but was snubbed when the men who used her work got a Nobel prize for the discovery). Our classes will be extracting DNA from fruit during periods 3, 4 and 5 (70 bananas are already waiting).
