Weekly round-up from the Principal

Well done Year 11 and Year 13, you have made it to the end of your November mocks. We are all incredibly proud of the way you have continued to approach these with maturity and tenacity. In the coming weeks, students will start to receive their feedback and I urge all students to be proactive in using this feedback alongside the resources we have provided and signposted in order to revisit and practice those areas identified for improvement. At Eggbuckland, we truly believe that ‘everyone can’ and we know that hard work really does pay off – be ambitious and aim high.

On the note of aiming high, a huge congratulations to Louis M in Year 9 who has qualified for the National Schools Diving Championships and to Harry W in Year 7 who has been chosen to perform with his Theatre Group in the West End in December.

There have been sporting fixtures taking place this week and more scheduled for next week in Badminton, Football, Rugby and Netball to name a few! Keep an eye out for the Sporting updates on our Facebook page. Well done to all students who are continuing to represent the College with pride, integrity, compassion and tenacity each week. Now that mock exams are complete, we can move back to offering recreational sport during breaktimes in the Sports Hall – don’t forget its Ultimate Frisbee on a Tuesday Break 1 and girls only activities on a Wednesday and Friday.

You will soon be receiving a letter from the College to launch our Presents 4 Presence winter attendance rewards scheme. I cannot stress enough the importance of full attendance at College and the impact that absence has on learning. Please do all you can to support your child in attending school every day during these winter months and in doing this, they will have the chance to win some amazing prizes and rewards. If there are any business out there who would like to help in supporting this scheme, we would be delighted to have a chat with you and ask you to please make contact with the College.

Thank you to all parents and carers who have ben using the newly assigned ‘pick up and drop off’ area. Please can I ask that drivers do not block the roundabout at the College entrance whilst waiting for their child, and instead, use the designated area. This will help to maintain traffic flow and student safety.

Now to celebrate in style our super Students of the Week; well done to you all for being nominated and selected this week.
