Weekly round-up from the Principal!

And just like that its March already!

I’d like to start by thanking all students for the positive start to term 4.

Our Year 11 students have continued to impress us with their dedicated and mature approach to their mock examinations.  Invigilators have commented on the wonderful conduct of our students during this period and this makes me extremely proud.  Well done!  Attendance to the morning revision sessions has really picked up and our wonderful staff have been fantastic at putting on additional warm up sessions ahead of both morning and afternoon exams.

Our Year 12 and 13 students have also been embarking on their mock examinations over the last two weeks and have approached these with the tenacity that we see from our Sixth Form students time and time again – well done.

Last week, we wrote to parents and carers regarding school uniform and the importance of all students meets our uniform expectations.  Thank you to all parents for their support in helping us to maintain high expectations and standards in this area.  It was extremely pleasing to see that 96% of our students had perfect uniform this week.

On Wednesday, the Child Centred Policing team came in to deliver assemblies about the dangers of vaping.  Our students showed incredible respect during these sessions and were a credit to the College.  These assemblies are part of a city-wide information campaign to educate around vaping.

I know that students across Year 7 – 9 are eager to find out their Enrichment Week allocations – I can reassure you all that we will be releasing this information as soon as possible.  We are so pleased with the engagement and excitement across our community for the activities on offer that week, and I thank all staff for offering to put these activities on.

We have a run of Parents’ Evenings coming up this term, with Year 9 next week and then Year 8 the week after. Please continue to keep an eye on emails for letters and updates.  We look forward to welcoming parents and carers into College.

Now to celebrate our first Students of the Week for this term:

Year 7: Lily-Mai L

Year 8:  Amber H

Year 9: Gabriel M-V and Emily B

Year 10: Alfie J

Sixth Form: Charlie A
