Weekly round-up from the Principal!

It’s been another busy week in sport this week, with Isaac L competing in the Cross Country, Football matches taking place across Years 7 – 11 as part of the Plymouth group league, Devon Cup and Plymouth cup competitions and our new clubs: Cricket, Ultimate Frisbee, Badminton, Volleyball and Table Tennis, all growing in numbers.

We also had the pleasure of once again welcoming our colleagues from DTTSA as we hosted the Devon Schools Individual Table Tennis Championships.  Students from schools across Devon entered a strongly fought competition across a range of age groups.  The event was also visited by the Area Manager who went away extremely impressed by the standard of play, the numbers taking part, the standard of the facilities and the partnership between the College and the Club.  Well done to everyone involved and in particular to the students from Eggbuckland who competed, Karl L and Reggie J who both played excellently to make the quarter finals and top 8 in the county

Well done to our Year 11s who have completed their practical Food exams this week.  Mr Lyons has fed back on how impressed he has been with the standard of the work he has seen.  Good luck to those of you who are still to go next week and thank you to all staff in the Food Technology team and beyond for supporting our students so well.

Year 13 students have also been preparing for and attending interviews across the local area and beyond for university and apprenticeship places next year.  We are all rooting for you.

With only a week to go before half term, we still have plenty to do with trips going out and Year 9 Options evening taking place next Thursday evening.  Today Year 9 had another subject assembly, this time on Business and Creative Arts, to help them with their subject choices.  We look forward to welcoming Year 9 families for our Options Evening from 5:30 – 7:30pm next week.  Please look out for your personalised letter which contains your talk time.

A finally, to our students of the week: Reuben W, Emily G, Harrison T and Billy D.  Congratulations!
