U15 Elite National Cup

Last week, we hosted Ivybridge in the last 16 of the Elite competition. This is a competition where schools can play more than 3 players who are playing within professional football club academies. Ivybridge have been our bogey side, and having lost the last two matches against them, we were hoping it would be third time lucky. We found ourselves 1-0 and then 2-1 down after an equalising goal from Alfie. A strong finish to the first half where Joe and Aaron both scored to give us the half time lead. A second from Joe early in the second half and some game management where Billy won a number of throw ins and corners steadied nerves a little. A fifth from George and a sixth from Rowan put us into the Elite Quarter Final with a 6-2 victory.

Next up in the Elite cup will be a trip to Millfield or The Forest School in Reading. On the 4th January, this team travel to Queen Elizabeth’s School in Wimborne to play in Round 6, the last 32, of the National Cup.
