This week we had to mention our TICK value, compassion. This is due to the amazing compassion demonstrated by one of our sixth form students.
On Thursday, we hosted our Sixth Form Open Evening and we always look forward to this evening as an opportunity to discuss exciting courses and future goals with our students. Our students know us well and it is brilliant that they are comfortable in the school they are used to and amongst the staff who understand them. However, many of our sixth form students come to us from different schools and the open evening is often the first time they have stepped foot in our building and met any of our staff or students. This can be quite a daunting experience! This is why it was so lovely to see one of our sixth formers, Corey Malone, go above and beyond in making our external students feel so welcome.
Corey showed great compassion by introducing himself to visitors, talking to them about their plans for after GCSEs and showcasing what Eggbuckland can offer. We had many comments during and after the evening thanking Corey for his kindness and sensitivity.
Well done, Corey – you are a great example of compassion at Eggbuckland Community College.
