National Careers Week

As part of National Careers Week 2021, the Sixth Form 6PP sessions this week were based on a virtual career carousel. The first session was hosted by Next Steps SW with student ambassadors from Marjon and Plymouth Universities talking about their journeys into Higher Education. Students heard from Psychology, Criminology, Design Technology and Primary Teaching students with each ambassador providing information on their own very different experiences and where they see themselves going after university. Our students had the opportunity to ask questions and as Year 12 students start to think about their future destinations beyond Sixth Form, this session will have provided ideas and information that they can research further.

The second session was from the Apprenticeship Service talking about Higher and Degree Apprenticeships and the wealth of opportunities that currently exist. Local employers, Princess Yachts and Land Registry, also attended sharing information on their current opportunities and again students were able to ask questions to find out more about the job roles within these organisations.
