I am privileged to pop into most classes on most days of the week to look at the quality of student learning. Entering a hard working Year 8 science class, I was interested to find out their understanding of aerobic and anaerobic respiration. Their knowledge was super impressive! They could explain the chemical reactions, knew the formula for lactic acid and knew about mitochondria and how it was shaped to speed up the rate of a chemical reaction. They also were aware when athletes had to utilise both forms of respiration and how they recover from an oxygen debt.
So, for their knowledge, understanding and commitment, they are an easy choice for the accolade ‘Class of the Week’.
