Local Employers work with our Sixth Form

On Friday, Eggbuckland welcomed employees from Morrison’s and Derriford Hospital to work with our Sixth Form students in their 6PP lessons.

Helen Kelly, People Manager from Morrison’s, delivered a three week employability package with Year 13 students looking at preparing students for applications and interviews. Year 13 students will be completing a mock interview with an employer in the workplace later in the term so this activity is great preparation.

Year 12 students are also looking at applications, skills, qualities, qualifications and how to get their dream job in the future. Nicky Mitchell, our Careers and Enterprise adviser from Derriford Hospital, supported this lesson which stressed the importance of showing personal skills and qualities, as well as qualifications, when applying for jobs.

This type of employer engagement is fantastic for our students to hear what the world of work is all about and how they need to be preparing for their futures. A huge thank you to the employers for supporting us.
