Learning from Elite Sportspeople

This week, the Sports and Rugby Academy students heard from ex-professional rugby player, Eoghan Grace, about his sporting career. Eoghan, a former international rugby player with Ireland, shared with students the highs and lows of an international career. He explained how the importance of a good education has enabled him to set up his own coaching company, Eolas, using the transferable skills he has learnt from sport as well as the qualifications he obtained from his school and university education.

Eoghan’s presentation was aspirational as well as enlightening, emphasising the harsh reality of how difficult it is to make it to the top in the world of sport. However, there was an important message about never giving up and that hard work and dedication will pay off in the end.
