Learn to Live

This week all of our Year 12 students visited a Learn to Live presentation at the Crown Plaza hotel. The live presentation given by Local Authority Road Safety Teams, Devon and Somerset Fire & Rescue Service, Devon and Cornwall Police, South West Ambulance, Devon Air Ambulance targets young people as they are statistically one of the most at risk groups when it comes to road traffic collisions. They enable young people to understand specific risks and consider the consequences of their actions. They learnt about how to make small changes to their behaviours and develop appropriate coping strategies that they can use to make choices with regard to their safety when travelling on the roads. Young drivers (aged 16-24 years) are overrepresented in road collisions compared with other road users.
