Importance of Lateral Flow Testing

On Wednesday this week, we attended a Local Authority briefing about current Covid rates in the South West. For 11 to 16 year olds in the South West, we are told that infection rates are currently high, 3,600 for every 100,000. This is expected to increase over the next two weeks and then plateau and drop thereafter.

The Local Authority stressed the importance of students taking twice weekly Lateral Flow Tests (ideally Sunday and before school on Wednesday) to ensure early identification.

Whilst we are not enforcing the wearing of facemasks/screens in College, there are whispers that local areas may be required to wear these should local rates continue to rise.

As usual, please be assured that we will keep you up to date with any developments.

If a student is off with Covid, please do not forget to tap into our website for week by week lesson breakdowns (Online Learning - KS3/4 | ECC (eggbuckland.org.uk). Remember, also, that your Knowledge Organiser is also a useful resource.

Thank you, as always, for your support.
