In December, Year 7 students at Eggbuckland entered a trust wide writing competition as part of the "Being Human: Fear" unit in our curriculum.
This meant that over 1000 Year 7 pupils (this needs fact checking, but I guess it must be right!?) across the 7 secondary schools in WeST planned, crafted, drafted and redrafted a short gothic story.
Each school then selected the best story from their Year 7s and the 7 best stories went head to head in an anonymous judging session.
Amazingly, out of over 1000 entries, our very own Maddy Richards came out on top.
Maddy was presented with two trophies: one which will sit proudly in our trophy cabinet, and another that Maddy gets to keep to herself.
Congratulations, Maddy. We are all very proud of you!
