On Friday 14th June, a group of Year 9 girls went to the University of Plymouth’s ‘Girls into Chemistry’ event. It was a fun and interactive hands-on day that included inspirational talks from women in Chemistry related careers and the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC). These were followed by practical laboratory sessions where the girls completed several analytical chemistry tests and forensic analysis in order to solve a crime. Their lab skills were exceptional and they all correctly identified the culprit. Excellent forensic scientists in the making!
