Girls’ Football National Cup

Under 14 Girls’ Football National Cup- Final 16 match

The girls drew a home game to be played at Marjon, against Thornden School- Winchester. The girls were up against it with a number of students off poorly and injuries being carried by a number of the team. Unfortunately, the girls went down 1-0 going in to half time. They dug deep throughout the second half with some fantastic balls going in over the top for our strikers to get on the end of, but the game finished at 2-1 to Thornden school. The Under 14 girls can hold their heads high and walk proudly with the knowledge and accolade of being one of the 16 best teams in England. Onwards and upwards to the battle next year!

Under 15 National Cup- Final 16 match

The girls once again played a home fixture at Newton Abbott Astro against The Gryphon School from North Dorset. With many of the girls previously playing in the Under 14 game, they were well and truly up for the game. The girls battled throughout and were comfortably up 3-0 at half time. Unfortunately, The Gryphon School managed to get back a goal which wobbled our team which led to a further goal making the score line 3-2. Our girls pulled themselves together and manged to slot another away making the final score 4-2.

The Under 15s are now in the top 8 best teams in England and go on to play in the quarter finals. There is a live draw for the next round on Monday 7th between 6.15pm-6.35pm on ESFA youtube channel. Details on the next game will be released as soon as possible after the draw.
