Future Friday Assemblies

Sixth Form

Gail Gotham Dunn, Senior HR Business Partner at Babcock, delivered a presentation this week to Sixth Form and last week to Year 11 students on employer expectations within the workplace. Gail who is also the ECC Careers and Enterprise Company Advisor spoke about the importance of rules within the workplace and the consequences if they are broken. Her talk highlighted the importance of staying safe online to protect yourself and others within the workplace.

Year 11

Jake Chatfield from the University of Law delivered an excellent, informative presentation on careers in criminology. Criminology is a subject that interests lots of our students and it will become a subject delivered at ECC Sixth Form from September 2022. The science behind the topic, plus the interesting morals and ethics within the subject, demonstrated how varied the job role could be and how it cuts across several job sectors.

Year 10

Jo Bishop from Springpod delivered a virtual presentation to Year 10 students on the benefits, and how to apply for, virtual work experience through their online platform. Whilst in-person work experience is not available to Year 10 students this year, we actively encourage students to participate in virtual work experience. Often these opportunities are available in sectors that are hard to find actual placements for pre-16 students, e.g. medicine, health, law.
