Extreme weather: how do you know if a Plymouth school in closed?
Occasionally Plymouth is hit by a deluge of snow, torrential rain and/or hail storms. Extremes of weather can have an impact on Plymouth schools’ ability to open, usually because roads become impassable. Most schools follow closely our weather patterns and when ‘extreme weather’ is predicted schools become neurotically glued both to their screens and to what is happening outside the nearest window.
If parents are concerned about whether a school may or may not be open, please go straight to our website. We will try to make any decision about a school closure (or if we are remaining open) by 7:30am and post this online. Information about school closures is also sent to our local radio stations (Heart, Radio Devon and Radio Plymouth). These stations will send out regular updates about closures over the course of the day.
