Elmer’s Big Parade, Plymouth

To mark the anniversary of the well-loved literary elephant, forty Elmers, wonderfully created by a wide variety of local and national artists https://www.elmerplymouth.co.uk/ will be dotted around our city from July until September and will then be auctioned off at the end to raise money for St Luke’s Hospice.

The Art department are in full swing with completing the Eggbuckland Elmer (called The Rhythm of Life) in Art Club on Tuesdays and Fridays after College. Students in Year 7 and 8 have created their own designs based on the chorus from the “Rhythm of Life” and inspired by their own photos of local landscapes. We are so lucky to live in a city with access to the sea and also so close to Dartmoor and the colours and shapes have been used to inspire design ideas for whole classes. Snippets of ideas have then been combined into our final design. Weekly updates can be seen via the “Art at Eggy” Facebook page.
