I cannot say that the Government extension of the re-opening of schools to March 8th is not disappointing. Whilst staff have worked hard to deliver live lessons and students have worked with real dedication to engage with them, few would argue that distance learning is as effective as being in a classroom! When sharing this news with some Year 8 students in our Educare provision, one of them said to me, “Sir, it is what it is and all we have to do is make the most of what we’ve got.” These wise words have become my quote of 2021!
