Careers’ Update
Year 9 assembly - Joanne Whysall from Crerar Hotels provided a virtual presentation about the exciting and varied career pathways available in the Leisure & Hospitality industry.
Year 10 assembly - Jenny Evans, ECC alumni, shared her successful career path to date. Jenny talked about the benefits of self-employment and entrepreneurial skills as well as reinforcing the need for students to make the most of opportunities that present themselves along their journey.
Year 11 assembly - The National Citizen Service presented their offer for the summer holidays. NCS is a great way for students to develop their employability skills as well as having fun and giving back to the local community by means of fund-raising activities. It is great to see this activity returning for students, who in previous years have benefitted so much from participating in the programme.
Year 12 Product Design
Students heard about an exciting work experience opportunity with Building Plymouth Adopt-a-School stakeholders based in the Millfields, Plymouth. Representatives from Service Design Solutions provided an overview of the project, as well as details on the application process. There are 4 positions available. This is a great opportunity that we are pleased to see returning after the pandemic has restricted face-to-face work experience opportunities.
