Building Plymouth Open Doors Week

This week has been #BuildingPlymouth Open Doors week. The week provides an opportunity for students to visit live construction sites within the city. As a Building Plymouth adopted school we have been lucky enough to visit the following 3 sites: Balfour Beatty Forder Valley Flyover road improvements, Ryearch site where they are constructing an extension to the Advanced Medical Solutions building at Langage Industrial Park and Obedair site at Derriford Hospital where they are refurbishing Brittany House for the NHS.

All the students enjoyed these opportunities. As well as providing context to their classroom learning, they have heard about the wide range of career opportunities within the construction sector both at apprenticeship and graduate level.
