Big Bang
Our Science Club, Ecoescuela and selected students from Years 7 to 10 attended the Big Bang Science Fair in Exeter on Tuesday.
The Westpoint venue was a bustle of businesses, colleges, inventors, universities, scientists and engineers eager to talk to us about career prospects. Students tried their hand at operating surgeons’ tools to thread needles. They raced a Rubik's cube-solving robot (and won) and tried out design workshops. Some took a starry trip in an inflatable planetarium while others operated drones using tablets or pre-programming code.
Although everyone came out with something different, everyone left with something (and a fair few free bits of stationery). Some of our students are now considering career paths that they had never considered before; in design, robotics, health, ecology and more. These students were a credit to themselves, their parents and represented Eggbuckland with exemplary behaviour and manners, Miss Jefferies was so proud to be there with them.
