An important date for our current Year 7 students and parents

It is well known that industry is predicting an ever increasing skills’ shortage over the next 10 years. Plymouth based industry, the largest of which are manufacturing, health, engineering, retail, defence and construction, are working very closely with schools to narrow this gap. There are so many opportunities in Plymouth for skilled trainees, apprenticeships and graduates and with these comes plenty of well-paid and very rewarding careers for our young people.

In order to make informed choices and choose the right career for your child, people need to know what opportunities are out there. It is never too young to start!

On Thursday 26th September we are inviting all our current Year 7 parents and students to an event designed to link you up with the key employment sectors in Plymouth and beyond. You can talk about the careers opportunities that exist within a specific sector (e.g. health or construction), look at careers progression they offer and talk through apprenticeships, entrance routes and qualifications desirable to the ‘perfect’ job.

The evening starts at 6pm and finishes at 8pm. More information will follow but please keep this evening free. It will be good to see you.
