About The Event

Dear Parent / Carer,

Monday 18th March - 1:25pm release for students

Eggbuckland is working closely with three other ambitious schools in Plymouth to raise the

achievement of all our young people. We are privileged to have secured two National Leaders in

Education (NLEs) to travel to Plymouth to present to staff key strategies for school improvement.

The downside to this is that Monday 18th March at 2pm is the only available time that we could

organise between all 3 schools that fitted with the busy schedule of the NLE. I use the word

‘downside’ for two reasons: firstly it means that on Monday 18th March students will be released

1.5 hours early from College (at 1:25pm) and secondly, I appreciate the early release will be

inconvenient for many of our parents and carers. I do apologise about this.

To support all parents we are making the following commitments:

1) If any parent cannot accommodate an early release (1:25pm) on Monday 18th March, we

will organise an activity to ensure individuals can stay in College until 3:05pm. If you require

this service, please contact us on mailbox@eggbuckland.com stating the name of your child,

House and Tutor Group. We will confirm receipt of your email as a guarantee that your

child will be accommodated.

2) All students can select a packed lunch or hot meal at break time on the 18th March.

3) The College bus will be rescheduled for a 1:35pm return journey along the normal

established route.

4) The popular number 28/28A/28B public buses run regularly throughout the day to

transport students home.

I do thank you for your ongoing support and promise that this ‘out of the blue’ early release will

certainly not happen again this academic year!

Yours sincerely

Matthew Corrigan
