Week Beginning - 1st June - 22nd June

What I will be learning about - 

Spend some time on simplypsychology.org (or similar) looking at the following topics creating a PowerPoint that you can use to revise….these must be sent to me for checking.

 

Remember you have access to the text book to help you with this. Log in to Kerboodle…if you need help with this then let me know 😊

What I will need to know or be able to do by the end of the week

Your topic is individual vs situational explanations.

Your topic is ethics and psychology…what impact does ethics have? Should it? Does it affect what we know? What about socially sensitive research? How do we do socially sensitive research safely?

Your topic is usefulness of research.

Go back over all the work done since January….freshen up your notes, organise them, fill gaps, check the spec and practice the information.

Week Beginning - 27th April - 18th May

What I will be learning about - 

Spend some time on simplypsychology.org (or similar) looking at the following topics creating a PowerPoint that you can use to revise….these must be sent to me for checking.

What I will need to know or be able to do by the end of the week

27th April - Your topics are nature vs nurture and psychology as a science (this is Wundt and you did this with Miss Finnie…it needs to be revisited, revised and detail added).

4th May - Your topics are free will vs determinism and reductionism vs holism.

11th May - You need to understand definitions, principles and concepts of social and cognitive approaches to psychology (what is the same or different, how it can be applied, what are the strengths and weaknesses) think about the research you have already looked at.

18th May - Go back over all the work done on approaches with Miss Finnie….do you understand Pavlov, Skinner, Cognitive Neuroscience, Schemas, Evolution and Darwin e.t.c. You did the biological, behavioural, and cognitive approaches plus social learning theory. Your notes must be brilliant and if you didn’t understand any of it then you must look it up and read it until you do.

What I will be learning about - 

Read the uploaded pdf named ‘maths practice 2’

What I will need to know or be able to do by the end of the week

Make notes, practice and then send me your completed work. If you want me to mark your questions they need to be on a Word document or typed into an email…I cannot mark photos 😊

Read the pdf of the chapter on Sperry Split Brain Study. Make notes on this and watch for my email which will contain the usual PowerPoint to help you.

What I will need to know or be able to do by the end of the week

Using all the resources make sure you understand this quite complicated study.
