Week Beginning - 13th July

What I will be learning about - To know what Mega Musicals are and  to know how stage Musicals developed into ‘Movie Musicals’

What I will need to know or be able to do by the end of the week

You will now be aware of how Musical theatre has developed over time and the changes that have taken place throughout Musical Theatre history.

Resources I will need to use

Lesson 7  Slide’s 1- 8 of the Powerpoint. You can copy answers on paper and photograph it before sending it to me or you can complete the work on the slide. 

Week Beginning - 6th July

What I will be learning about - To know how Musical Theatre started to explore the Darker side of story lines in the 1960’s-1970’s.

What I will need to know or be able to do by the end of the week

You will see how the topics of the Musicals are much darker  and more experimental in this time period.

Week Beginning - 29th June

What I will be learning about - To know  how ‘Dramatic Action’ started to move Musical Theatre on in the 1940’s – 1950’s.

What I will need to know or be able to do by the end of the week

You will continue to see the development of Musical Theatre starting to use different elements to make it more interesting for the audience.

Week Beginning - 22nd June

What I will be learning about - What Ballad Opera and Comic Operas are.

What I will need to know or be able to do by the end of the week

You will know how different types of operas develop in this time period.

Week Beginning - 15st June

What I will be learning about - What  Cycle Plays are

What I will need to know or be able to do by the end of the week

You will know how Cycle Plays were developed through the Middle Ages.

Week Beginning - 8st June

What I will be learning about - How the Romans took over from Greeks and the decline of Musical Theatre in the Middle Ages

What I will need to know or be able to do by the end of the week

You will know how Musical Theatre is progressing in this time period

Week Beginning - 1st June

What I will be learning about - Where  Musical Theatre derived from.

What I will need to know or be able to do by the end of the week

You will be aware where Musical Theatre originated from and other influences which affected it.

What I will need to know or be able to do by the end of the week

Being able to Analyse Musical Elements of The Hall of the Mountain King, and be able to use your imagination to make the ‘Music come alive’

What I will need to know or be able to do by the end of the week

Being able to Analyse Musical Elements of The Carnival of the Animals: Aviary by Saint-Saens
