Uniform

College Uniform

We are very keen you wear our distinctive College uniform with pride, and welcome the support of parents in this matter. We are therefore committed to a strict and distinctive uniform for Year 7 to 11 and a dress code for our Sixth Form. Where students are in breach of the College Uniform policy we will take action which may include isolation, sending students home to attend to uniform discrepancies, giving detentions, isolations and, of course, contacting parents where appropriate.
Uniform can still be ordered from College Reception, (please ask for the Finance Office) or by email vlaw@eggbuckland.com, or by telephoning 01752 720032

For all students Years 7-11

  • Maroon Blazer with college badge
  • College Tie (House Colour), to be worn at all times
  • White or grey shirt – a standard school shirt with a normal (not soft) collar (with a top button which is done up) and long enough to be tucked into trousers
  • Trousers which are plain and tailored, black or grey, and without unnecessary decoration
  • Plain black or dark brown, non-fabric shoes of closed design, with a soft sole (tread). Any logo must be the same colour as the shoe. For reasons of safety shoes should be flat. Closed insteps are necessary for protection in practical subjects. No boots please. If inappropriate shoes are worn to practical activities (Technology, Science, PE), then the College accepts no responsibility for injury
  • Girls may wear a plain grey or plain black skirt (pleated or un-pleated) – skirts should be about knee length and should be worn with thick black tights or white or black ankle socks

Jewellery & Fashion Items

All jewellery (including ear studs and small earrings as well as watches) must be removed for PE and, whilst every effort is made to keep them safe during lessons, the College takes no responsibility for the safe keeping of any property. It is therefore suggested that expensive watches and jewellery are not worn to College.

Hairstyles & Make-up

Exaggerated hair styles, haircuts and ‘unnatural’ hair colours are not allowed in College. Students will either be isolated internally or sent home (we will not accept grade 1 or 2 or tramlines). Students in Years 7-11 may not wear excessive make-up and, if worn at all, should be discrete - if not you will be asked to remove it. Plain black or brown hair bands can be worn but no other hair adornment.
